WHY US?

We are a team of passionate therapists and mentors who believe in supporting children wherever they are on their unique journeys. We understand the challenges often faced by children in traditional settings and the diverse ways in which they process information, especially those with autism and are neurodivergent. That's why we have developed a dynamic model that promotes experiential growth. By tailoring our approach to the individual pace and abilities of each child, we facilitate personal growth and provide the necessary scaffolding for their success. CAP-A-Village is an ideal environment for homeschooled children as it provides them with a safe and supportive setting to connect with like-minded peers, fostering social skills development that they might miss out on by not attending traditional schools.

WE DON'T INSTRUCT, WE MENTOR:

At CAP-A-Village, we prioritise mentorship over traditional instruction. Our approach is centred on guiding children through challenges, fostering teamwork, and promoting a sense of partnership. Here's what sets us apart:
  • We encourage parents and mentors to collaborate with their children as they navigate their growth journey.
  • Projects are broken down into manageable tasks, allowing children to progress at their own pace.
  • Regular breaks are incorporated to ensure everyone can recharge and maintain focus.
  • Our inclusive environment fosters socialization and provides opportunities for like-minded connections among children and parents.
  • Teamwork, active listening, communication, and problem-solving skills are cultivated within our vibrant community.
  • Our Cap A day lasts only 3 hours, with a late start at 11 am.
  • Each day begins with preparatory activities, including exercises that help children prepare their vestibular system for optimal growth. This is followed by social sessions facilitated by our Team.
  • All our sessions are designed to foster capacity building and social skills, meaning that self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants may be able to claim our services through their NDIS plans.
