Feedback from parents

"CapA has been a life changer for my daughter. Homeschooled and neurodiverse, the focus on social skill building and increasing participation in group activities, with a consistent cohort of fellow neurodivergent kids has proved invaluable. My daughter has had to work through difficult relationships, found her strengths, developed bravery to try new things and has made life-long friends. There truly is no other place like it!"

"CapA has been a game changer for Bunny. It has helped them through their school trauma, built their confidence, given them new friends and helped create a child that can now speak to adults, engage in discussion with the other kids and express themselves through art and fashion. They've found themselves and developed life skills along the way. CapA is a space that allows all of the kids to grow while feeling safe and loved. The mentors put their all into creating a flexible, adaptive environment which responds to the needs of each individual on a day to day basis. I've also found myself part of a close-knit, supportive community of parents than I now consider to be family."

"Finding Cap A Village has been truly amazing for our kiddo and our family as a whole. We had been homeschooling our eldest for 18 months, after "regular" school (though at quite an alternative school) simply imploded for him. During the 18 months of homeschooling we'd tried various homeschool groups and classes. We met some truly lovely people and our son enjoyed some amazing experiences, but something was missing. We found it at Cap A Village!! Our son found his tribe and we found a group of like minded families and parents who just "get it". Being a parent of a neurodivergent child can feel very isolating and lonely. Cap A Village has provided a setting where our kiddo has thrived and where I have connected with some amazing Mummas. The mentors at Cap A Village are truly there for the kids, all sessions are run in a variety of ways to meet the kids wherever they're at. It's a super supportive and accepting environment. Cap A Village is the only place our son has wanted to attend every day (even asking Cap A Village isn't open during school holidays!)."

"After attending Cap-A Village for just one week, my 11yr old daughter came home stating "I think I found my people!". One year in and she is still enjoying her days at Cap-A just as much Emoji Cap-A has been fantastic for our family as a whole, doing most of the heavy lifting when it comes to my daughters social, therapeutic and 'hands on' learning needs. It has provided a level of supported independence for her and some valuable time back for me. She was welcomed warmly and continues to be supported by a team of extremely understanding and supportive mentors who are full of encouragement and have a knack for really connecting with the children, bringing out their individuality and building on their strengths in fun, engaging and creative ways, both in centre and out in the community. Our daughter loves the fact that she gets to see her friends most days (which isn't always so easy to manage with homeschooling) and try new things and we've loved seeing her confidence grow so much in the last year not only when at Cap-A but also in other environments too."

"CapA has been a true haven for my two wonderfully unique children. This exceptional environment has become their second home, where they've found kindred spirits and flourished under the guidance of remarkable mentors. Here, my quirky kids feel accepted and understood, free to embrace their individuality while engaging in enriching experiences. The dedicated mentors at CapA have created a space where creativity is celebrated, curiosity is nurtured, and differences are viewed as strengths. I'm incredibly grateful for CapA's positive impact on our family. In a world where finding the right fit can be challenging for children who march to the beat of their own drum, CapA stands out as a beacon of hope and opportunity. It's a place where my children can truly be themselves, connect with like-minded peers, and grow in ways I never imagined possible."

"My two children, 13 and 16 years old, have been participants in Cap A's wonderful capacity building program for two years. They have finally found a place where they are accepted and celebrated. Their growth has been incredible with both forming friendships, learning social skills and engaging in group activities that increase their confidence and build valuable life skills. Cap A is an inclusive environment where all are accepted. The mentors work with small groups and are able to form meaningful connections with the children. Parents are actively involved and there is a great sense of community. "

"My kiddo is really thriving at Cap-A. They've made so much progress with personal and social development this past year. They love the mentors, and have developed some really great friendships with peers too. "

Parent of a 7 Year old

“My 15-year-old has been attending Cap A for 18 months. Initially, he felt apprehensive about entering a new environment, but he was warmly welcomed by the community. The team at Cap A has provided unwavering support through many significant milestones, encouraging him to pursue his goals. They have created an environment that allows him to develop his skills and explore his natural passions while honouring his individual learning style and pace. Currently, he is working towards his IVET certificate and has participated in numerous exciting projects this year. He has shared that these experiences have significantly boosted his confidence and taught him valuable insights about his learning preferences, interests, and teamwork dynamics. Most importantly, the relationships he has built at Cap A with other young individuals and mentors have proven to be both therapeutic and meaningful. To me, this sense of community is the cornerstone of effective learning environments. Cap A fosters a sense of belonging and consistently promotes critical thinking, open-mindedness, and problem-solving, all while ensuring a foundation of empathy and respect. It is a place where individuals can truly shine, and their unique talents are nurtured”
